Second Paper Assignment

The second paper is the time you choose a theorist or theory and establish the parts of the the theory that you plan to apply to the artifact from the first paper. This paper will consist of the following:

• A brief bio of the theorist (or if it's a school of thought, of the particular theorists involved in your paper).
• A description of what you anticipate this particular theory will allow you to gain insight into.
• Your description of the theory itself, focusing on the aspects of the theory that you feel are most important to the analysis. (But all analysis happens in paper 3!)

You will need to get primary and secondary sources for this. For instance, if you are doing Marxism, you will need to get a hold of the appropriate primary text (what Marx actually wrote), plus secondary sources (what other scholars wrote about Marx's writings). DO NOT JUST REGURGITATE CLASS NOTES OR WWW PAGES. Be sure to correctly indicate direct quotations, and to cite the use of the ideas of others.
