Fact Sheet for Prospective Nursing Students at Fort Valley State University: Thank you for your interest in Fort Valley State University’s proposed Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program. At this time, we are moving forward in our plans to implement this program at FVSU in the very near future. We are submitting letters of intent to begin the BSN program to the Georgia Board of Nursing and the Georgia Board of Regents. Pending their approval, the program should be available by or before Fall Semester of 2010. What does this mean to interested students? The first two years of any Nursing program are comprised of the University System Core Curriculum. Therefore, if you are a student who is interested in applying to be a part of the first Nursing cohort, you could begin work at Fort Valley State University as a Biology major. This would allow you to make progress toward being accepted into the FVSU Nursing program (or any Nursing or any other medical or pre-professional program) once the Nursing program has received approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing and the Georgia Board of Regents. If you are interested in the Nursing program at Fort Valley State University, please take part in the Nursing program interest survey at: http://www.keithmurphy.info/Nursing/survey.htm (If link does not take you directly to survey, please copy and paste into your Internet browser.) Thank you for your interest in the BSN program at Fort Valley State University. For questions or more information, you can email the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Joyce O. Jenkins, at jenkinsj@fvsu.edu or call (478) 825-6454. Last Updated 1/30/08 bkm |
