First Assignments

These assignments are due by (announced in class), at the beginning of class. Of course they must be typed.

1. Write a detailed set of instructions for one of the actions listed below:

• walking up the stairs
• eating
• making breakfast
• watching a baseball game
• building a paper airplane.

Your audience is your classmates. You must assume that your reader has NO KNOWLEDGE of the action you are describing.

2. Write a Memo using the organizational format we discussed in class in which you reject a potential suitor.

3. Prepare a list of at least three topics for your research paper.
